Mind & Seoul

Branding

Mind & Seoul is an organization that I conceptualized to bring more attention to the problems of exploitation faced by K-pop idols within the industry. As a fan of K-pop, I became aware of these issues and felt that they needed to be addressed. I decided to use the finger heart because it is a symbol in K-pop used to signify love and appreciation. The red and purple colors are inspired by the Red Hat Society.

Mind & Seoul

Campaign

This campaign is aimed to encourage non-K-pop and K-pop fans to take action against the exploitation of K-pop idols. This advertisement further calls for improvement to the health and management system within the industry.

Anti-diet

Typeface

Diet culture can take a toll on one's mental and physical well-being. Anti-diet is a display font that I conceptualized to empower others to break societal norms of dieting for the sake of their well-being. Giving up on dieting has helped me develop a confidence with my body image and a better relationship with food.

Landmarks

Postcard

I was inspired by the first time I travelled abroad. My trip to Japan is one of my strongest memories because it was the first time I was culturally shocked and had to adapt to a new way of life. Each icon represents a historical landmark that I immersed myself in.

Bottega Louie

Menu

Bottega Louie is a high-end restaurant in Los Angeles. I was interested in portraying elegance and used them as my inspiration.

Boba E Boba

Branding/Business Card

Boba e Boba is a new restaurant concept that depicts my playful and understated art style. I drew inspiration of the restaurant name from Pasta e Pasta, a bicultural restaurant in Los Angeles, as a reflection of my own Chinese-American background.

Speech Follies

Flyer

Speech Follies is Arcadia High's annual Speech and Debate Team show. My design for the program is focused on conveying the lightheartedness of the students' speeches.

Spiderman

Key Art

The concept of the poster redesign is inspired by the big climax of the film and meant to capture the action of an American superhero movie.
